Even though they're not good for me, I'm a huge burger fan.
So, needless to say, Chicago Magazine's recently released listing of the best burgers in Chicago caught my eye. It turns out, though, that I've just been to one of them – Kuma's Corner – on Belmont in Chicago, where all the burgers are named after hard rock bands.
It being Chicago Magazine, most of the burgers can be found in Chicago, which I don't make my way out too often. Just five of the burger restaurants were found outside of Chicago, with The Assembly in Hoffman Estates probably being the closest one to us.
What do you think is the best burger in the Fox Valley? In our 2009 Best of the Fox Chronicle Readers' Choice Awards, Rookies All-American Pub & Grill took home the top prize with Portillo's and Urban Grille taking home consolation prizes. Of the three, I've been to Portillo's and Urban Grille, and I certainly can vouch for both of their burgers, though I'll give the nod to Urban Grille for its variety.
I shouldn't write about food near lunch time. Now, I'm hungry.
Side note: Kuma's Corner is destroying the competition in Chicago Magazine's online poll. The burgers there are pretty rockin' awesome. But if you decide to go, be ready for a longish wait. Kuma's is the Chicago burger joint equivalent of Bien Trucha in Geneva in trying to get a table.
