Are you happy?
You're feeling great tonight if you pull for Kaneland, St. Charles North or Aurora Christian.
You feel pretty good if you root for Geneva.
Decent if you root for St. Charles East.
As for Batavia and ACC ... it's gotta get better, right folks? (Then again, that's what ACC must have thought last year ... )
Opening night went pretty much to plan, though Coach Sly is a little surprised the Bulldogs let the game get out of hand like that in the second half. Looks like the North Stars are ready to take a big ole step forward this season ... great to see.
Coach Sly hears Geneva's passing game is off to another slow start. The Vikings won't have the luxury of waiting so long this time around to get in gear, what with no No. 21 to play superhero, but it looks like Geneva's defense is still going to be a load for teams to deal with.
The Saints will have a tough go to be a playoff team. It might be hard for East to avoid an 0-2 start with a road trip to Naperville on tap. Good thing Matt Payne is such a workout wonder ... Sly thinks East will need Payne a lot on offense, too, to score enough points this season. That kid is a player, and so is Voytilla! If Voytilla and Boenzi were on the same D-line ... Sly's droolin' on the keyboard!
Final thought of the night ... Sly's told East had a moment of silence before the game to remember coach Fagot and John McNeil. Classy move on whoever's part that was at East (Sly's guessing coach Fields might have had something to do with it).
What did you guys think about opening week? Crowing and grumbling comments are equally valued by the Slyster!
