Some weird stuff

Strange week when Batavia passes for 15 yards and looks pretty darn good and Yorkville is up double digits on Geneva.

And how about them Cadets?

Not closing the deal against a contender like Glenbard South has gotta sting for the Dogs. Maybe Batavia found a bit of an offensive identity on the ground with this group but the Dogs are going to have to pass at least a little bit to be a playoff team. Next week in Rochelle is huge for B-town, and could set a state record for fastest game on the books if both teams keep it on the ground as much as they're inclined.

Coach Sly's not sure the "scare" against Yorkville matters much in the grand scheme for the Vikes but not having Boenzi for the Glenbard South game sure could. Gotta shake your head at that one.

Very nice wins for Kaneland and Marmion. For the Cadets to beat St. Francis without their biggest weapon is downright awesome. That's a playoff caliber win right there, boys. Congrats to coach Thorpe and Co.

This Kaneland team looks like it's going to be special when it's not turning it over all night. The Knights might be the last team on the dance floor come November.

And we had a pair of STC blowouts. Nice to see JHux back at North, and congrats to coach Fields on the first of many wins on the east side.

Like Sly was saying, weird week. Strange times when Geneva turns in the only lackluster performance in the Tri-Cities.
