A few more notes to get you ready for Week 8 of the football season:

Double entendre: St. Charles East senior wide receiver/defensive back Bryce Barry called the Saints' homecoming game against Upstate Eight Conference rival Neuqua Valley "a true homecoming" because the team has been away from Norris Stadium for more than a month.

East enters the meeting with the Wildcats with a share of the UEC lead and a five-game winning streak. The Saints went 4-0 on the road during the stretch after defeating visiting Streamwood in Week 3.

"It'll feel good to finally be home," Barry said. "Just the little things of hearing your own announcer, getting ready in your own locker room. Things like that we're excited for, and we're ready to go."

New Millenium: East has won twice at Streamwood's Millenium Field during its streak, as well, a feat that crosstown rival St. Charles North looks to duplicate against South Elgin.

UEC foe Bartlett also shares the turf field with Streamwood.

"It's the same with us and East," North Stars coach Mark Gould said. "Our home away from home. We've scouted there a couple times this fall, as well, so it feels like we've been there more than we have."

Numbers game: Geneva has outscored Kaneland, 127-49, in three meetings since the inception of the Western Sun Conference in 2006. Tonight marks the final WSC game between the schools; the Knights will help form the new Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference while Geneva (and archrival Batavia) join the UEC.
