Batavia's Trippi-Payne joins 400 club

DES PLAINES – Batavia girls volleyball coach Lori Trippi-Payne collected her 400th career victory Saturday when the Bulldogs outlasted Maine South, 25-19, 23-25, 25-19 at the Maine West Pumpkin Tournament.

The coach affectionately known as "Trippi" to many players and PE students also clinched her 11th 20-win season in 23 years at Batavia. Trippi-Payne succeeded Beth Amman as Bulldogs coach in 1987.
