A little more than 30,000 people had voted in Kane County – excluding those areas included in the Aurora Election Commission – as of 5:40 p.m., or about 14.3 percent of the registered voters.

Kane County Clerk Jack Cunningham said 31,106 people had cast votes by 5:40 p.m. Of those, 7,275 had voted early.

Also, Republicans are outvoting Democrats by about a 3 to 1 margin, Cunningham said, which he added was fairly typical for primaries in Kane County.
