Preps 24/7: Beitzel, Santacaterina among Geneva signees-to-be

Football players Brandon Beitzel and Michael Santacaterina are among the Geneva athletes expected to participate in a college signing ceremony Wednesday at the school.

Beitzel, a two-year starter at quarterback, will continue his college career at Grand Valley State, the Division II power that former Geneva star Michael Ratay attends. Santacaterina, a dynamite running back and defensive back for the Vikings, is expected to walk on at NIU.

As previously reported by the Chronicle, Geneva football standouts Frank Boenzi (NIU) and Bret Shannon (Air Force) have committed to Division I football destinations.

Also expected to participate in the Geneva ceremony are Samantha Hill (NIU, women's socker), Erica Miller (NIU, track and field), Kelly Shogren (Loyola Marymount, track and field) and Allie Pace (Harvard, track and field).
