Preps 24/7: For now, one goal for Batavia's Arlis
Wednesday's national signing day passed without undefeated Batavia senior wrestler Logan Arlis committing to a college.
Arlis seems to be in no hurry as he prepares for the IHSA Class 3A state series, which begins with Saturday's regional tournament at St. Charles East.
Illinois remains a strong possibility, however, as two of Arlis' siblings attend the school. His brother, Clint, is a senior 157-pounder on the Illini wrestling team.
"I'd like to go there," Arlis said, "but I'm keeping everything open for now."
Arlis enters the postseason with a 31-0 record. He completed a perfect regular season as a junior and did not lose until the 3A state championship match at 112 pounds.
