Preps 24/7: In case you were wondering
There was no official watch party, but Geneva girls basketball players saw their share of the IHSA Class 4A state tournament on WPWR-Channel 50 this past weekend, senior guard Myra Yelle said Monday.
Geneva (31-1) fell one victory short of its second straight trip to Illinois State's Redbird Arena in Normal. The team that defeated the Vikings, Hersey, lost, 56-30, to eventual champion Bolingbrook in Friday's first semifinal.
One night later, the Huskies fell to Fenwick, 55-51, in the third-place game.
"I think we could have competed well down there," Yelle said, "but they were all interesting games."
