Preps 24/7: IBCA honors Yelle, Wicinski
The Illinois Basketball Coaches Association recently recognized Geneva girls basketball players Kat Yelle (first team) and Lauren Wicinski (third team) as all-state selections.
A junior guard, Yelle led the team with averages of 14.1 points, 3.5 assists and 2.9 steals per game. Wicinski, a senior forward, averaged 12.5 points and 9.5 rebounds. Geneva began the season 31-0 before losing to Hersey in the Class 4A Streamwood Supersectional.
"Looking back, we'll know we had a good year," Yelle said. "We just wanted it to go about a week longer."
