Peoria man turns himself in after Batavia home invasion

BATAVIA – A Peoria man being charged with home invasion and battery turned himself in to Batavia police on Friday.

A warrant had been issued for the arrest of Michael B. Lashmett, 40, of Peoria, after a home invasion on May 22.

The victim had told police that Lashmett, who was her estranged boyfriend, had broken into her house and battered her before fleeing the scene.

The victim was treated at the scene for injuries.

Lashmett has been charged with home invasion, violation of a order of protection and battery. He is being held in the Kane County Jail on a $750,000 bond.

His next court date is June 9.
