Preps 24/7: Geneva's Williams gets nod at QB

Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

Geneva football coach Rob Wicinski told the Kane County Chronicle on Thursday that junior Matt Williams will be the starting quarterback this season.

A veteran of several offseason camps and combines – including the prestigious Peyton Manning Passing Academy in Thibodaux, La., – Williams won a camp battle against classmate Ben Rogers, who will move to receiver. Williams played receiver last fall.

The Vikings will open the season at Rock Island at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
