BATAVIA – Batavia High School officials were offering crisis support Thursday after the death of a high school student. The school district issued an alert through its e-mail messenger service that a student had died on Wednesday.
"A district crisis team, including support personnel, counselors, and other resource professionals, has been activated to address the needs of students and staff," the alert said. "At this time, these teams are working to address the needs of students and staff and provide relief to the high school community. In a time of loss, it is important to work together to support one another and all community members. Grief counseling centers are available for students and staff and will remain in place until further notice. Additional information will be shared as it becomes available."
The school said information about the student's visitation is not yet available.
