Face time with Sara Harrigan

Batavia resident Sara Harrigan, 42, was out for a walk with her dog, Jasper, when she answered 10 questions from the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.

Where did you grow up? LaSalle-Peru.

Pets? Lily, a Sheltie-Dachshund mix and Jasper, a Sheltie-mix.

First job? Baby-sitting and working at Burger King.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a lawyer, but I became a paralegal instead.

A book you’d recommend? The Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer.

Favorite charity? Homes for Endangered and Lost Pets, and recently a friend whose 16-year-old daughter was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Everything we’ve done has gone to help that family.

Hobbies? Exercising.

What was your best Halloween costume? Marge Simpson.

Favorite local restaurant? Bien Trucha in Geneva.

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I started running at age 37 to lose weight, and I’ve run two marathons with a plate and nine screws in my left ankle.
