Preps 24/7: Rosary swimmers set for state splash

Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

Some Rosary girls swimmers started the tapering process a few weeks ago. Others only began last week.

Whatever their scenario, the Beads are moving toward the same goal.

"We're just trying to stay focused and work really, really hard in the water so that we see good results at the end of the year," senior Grace Creighton said.

The beginning of the end comes Friday, when the IHSA state meet preliminaries open at New Trier. Rosary brings 17 individual or relay entries into the event, tied for third in Illinois behind New Trier (21) and Loyola Academy (18).

Along with Rosary, St. Charles East and St. Charles North will look to score big at state. The Saints' Emma Smith registered the top sectional time of all competitors in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing with a time of 2:06.10.
