Preps 24/7: Beads lead way among area state swimming teams

Rosary on Friday produced 14 championship or consolation finalists for Saturday's finals at the IHSA girls state swimming and diving meet at New Trier.

The Beads, who remain in the hunt for a state trophy, finished third last season after a stretch of four successive state titles from 2006-09.

"It was a good day, a really fast meet," Beads coach Bill Schalz said. "We had some really strong swims today."
