Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

St. Charles North's boys basketball team is a new entrant to the tradition-rich Pontiac Holiday Tournament this year so maybe it's initiation that the North Stars drew the late game for the opening round.

North will tip off tournament play in Pontiac at 9 p.m. against Oak Park-River Forest in the opening round on Dec. 28. The 16-team tournament runs Dec. 28-30.

Among the high-end teams in the perennially loaded field are No. 1 seed Simeon, No. 2 seed Warren, No. 3 seed Curie and No. 4 seed Peoria Manual. North will play either Peoria Manual or host Pontiac in the second round.

North also remains in the Jacobs Holiday Tournament field, which takes place the week before the Pontiac tourney.
