Sound Off: 'It's not Obama's fault'

It's not Obama's fault
I would like to respond to a reader who called about the Bush administration. The Bush administration inherited a time when there were jobs, and they started falling off after Bush and his colleagues were in there. The war started, and some of the fellas had to go off to services. And I think we forget that he inherited a really good policy when he got in there. It started going bad after he got in there. And, of course, Obama inherited that. And it's not Obama's fault that things are Obama's fault. It certainly isn't.

President Obama deserves praise
The Sound Off titled, "We had jobs when Bush was in charge," is a sad example of just what is wrong with the electorate in this country today. Instead of examining the actual causes of issues affecting us, such as high unemployment or stagnant wages, uninformed people just blame or credit the guy in charge at the moment. The simple fact is that the growing economy during the first G.W. Bush administration was completely attributable to wise policies implemented by both Republicans and Democrats during the Clinton administration. Remember, George W. took office with a balanced budget and a strong economy. The fiscal policies, lax regulation and unsustainable tax cuts implemented under George W. Bush created the economic crisis, the recession and high unemployment that was already in full swing when President Obama took office in 2009. In spite of Republican intransigence, which currently puts political gain above the needs of the country as a whole, the president has successfully prevented the descent into a full-blown depression. President Obama deserves praise for his successes, not blame for the failures of the previous administration.

Please, be cautious
I work for a bus company, and I wanted to let people know that I see so many people turn out in front of us, tailgate us. Please remember that we carry precious cargo on those buses. Some of those buses have seat belts. The bigger buses don't have seat belts. Please, be cautious when it comes to our yellow school buses.

Reverse this scene
There is something wrong about this scene. Obama wants to tax the 1 percent rich people and borrow from China? Why don't we reverse this scene? Borrow from the 1 percent rich by selling them 10-year bonds, or even anyone else who wants to get on the bandwagon, and pay back China what we owe them, only with this money. I'm sure the rich and the rest of us would be happy to take advantage of the interest we would get out of this. It worked back in WWII. Look back in history, and you'll see how WWII was financed by our own people. We also supported Great Britain and Russia with our lend-lease program, with bonds purchased by us. It's a no-brainer in my opinion.
