Preps 24/7: Evers sidelined for moment for Kaneland girls hoops

Kaneland senior center Kelly Evers rolled an ankle during the Knights' overtime victory against Dixon on Saturday, but coach Ernie Colombe hopes a favorable upcoming schedule means she will not have to miss much time.

After Saturday, Kaneland was not scheduled to play again until its Oswego East Tournament opener on Dec. 26.

"We'll have her go through the non-contact routine, so to speak," Colombe said. "Just some shooting, then we'll see how she moves down the line."

Kaneland is off to an 8-2 start. Guard Ally O'Herron swished a school-record seven three-pointers against Dixon.
