Preps 24/7: St. Charles North's Nelson could become military man

St. Charles North basketball senior center Kyle Nelson said Tuesday that Army is a leading option for his college basketball future.

"It's a big process to go through, so it'll take time," Nelson said.

If the 6-foot-8 Nelson ends up somewhere other than West Point, Division-II Lewis University is "high up there as well," Nelson said.

Nelson is enjoying a strong early portion of his senior season, including a 23-point afternoon with nine rebounds and four blocked shots Tuesday against Zion-Benton in a 60-51 North loss at the Jacobs tournament.
