Batavia Triathlon chooses new title sponsor, race director

BATAVIA – The Batavia Triathlon and Duathlon announced Experience Triathlon as the event’s title sponsor. The 2012 ET Batavia Triathlon & Duathlon takes place June 10.

“The Batavia Triathlon is very excited to welcome Experience Triathlon as our Title Sponsor,”  said Noel Basquin, founder of the Batavia Triathlon. “We are looking forward to this valuable partnership [and] the exciting year ahead and are extremely appreciative of their generous support of the event.”

The Batavia Triathlon is a USAT-sanctioned sprint distance charity event that has helped many nonprofit charities over the years, including The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training, Batavia Food Pantry, Batavia MainStreet and other local organizations.

Naperville based Experience Triathlon, founded by Joe LoPresto, is a leader in the endurance coaching industry.

Experience Triathlon offers personal, group and online coaching services to athletes in the Chicago area and around the world.

“We are very excited to form this long-term, strategic partnership with the city of Batavia,” LoPresto said. “Supporting this outstanding charity event fits perfectly with Experience Triathlon’s mission to help people of all ages and abilities lead a healthy lifestyle and become everything they were meant to be in training, racing and life,”

LoPresto has also been named the event’s new race director.

Registration for the event will open Jan. 1. More information on the ET Batavia Triathlon is available at www.bataviatriathlon.org.
