Prep roundup: St. Charles East boys swimming knocks off Metea Valley

AURORA – The St. Charles East boys swimming team won a competitive Upstate Eight Conference meet with Metea Valley on Thursday, 98-87.

Nick Watts had a strong day for the Saints, winning the 200-yard freestyle in 1:51.19 and also swimming on the victorious 200-freestyle relay with Taylor Nunnery, Shaun Seuschek and Will Shanel and 400-free relay with TJ Bindseil, Alec Carnell and Shanel.

Carnell also won the 100 free in 49.44 seconds, while Seuschek took the 200 individual medley in 2:02.69.

Kaneland girls bowling falls to Ottawa
OTTAWA – The Kaneland girls bowling team dropped a Northern Illinois Big 12 match against Ottawa on Thursday, falling, 2,854-2,596. Angela Charhut rolled a 476 series to lead the Knights, while teammate Christie Crews contributed a 447 series.
