Class 3A, 4A girls basketball postseason seeds announced

The IHSA on Thursday released postseason seeds and some regional locations for Class 3A and 4A girls basketball.

Regional pairings still are forthcoming, but for now, here's a look at which Chronicle-area teams are seeded or headed where. Geneva hosts a 4A regional, but its teams had yet to be assigned as of 4:45 p.m. Thursday.

Class 4A Hoffman Estates Sectional: No. 2 seed Geneva, No. 9 St. Charles East, No. 10 Batavia, No. 18 St. Charles North

Note: Geneva would play top sectional seed Bartlett in an Upstate Eight crossover playoff on Feb. 9 if the league-leading Vikings (River) and Hawks (Valley) clinch conference crowns.

Class 3A Yorkville Regional: Kaneland, Rosary

Class 3A Hampshire Regional: Burlington Central

Class 3A Glenbard South Sectional: St. Francis
