Beardmore: Former Marmion standout Rindone changing expectations with Augustana men's track
Alex Rindone had no idea what to expect when he decided to run track at Augustana. Although he was well aware of Rindone’s talent, Vikings coach Paul Olsen was also unsure how the former Marmion standout would fare at the collegiate level.
But with Rindone setting five school records and winning 10 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin championships through his first two years, expectations clearly changed have for the junior.
Rindone’s track career with the Cadets ended with his first state meet appearance, as he competed in the 100 and 200 meters as well as the 4x100 and 4x200 relays. That followed what he called his best high school meet – Marmion’s victory at the 2009 St. Charles North Sectional.
