No fill of Coffey for Batavia's Holm

Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

Micah Coffey keeps shuttling from position to position for the Batavia baseball team while capably handling his duties as the team's No. 3 hitter.

In the past several seasons, veteran Bulldogs coach Matt Holm has enjoyed similar luxuries in Coffey's older brothers, Jordan and Jesse.

"When the last of the Coffeys come through," Holm grinned, "that's probably when I'll retire."

Canaan Coffey is in the eighth grade.

Micah, a sophomore, figures to play alongside his younger brother for at least one potential season, but for now, he's not looking too far ahead.

"I try not to think about much at the plate at all," Coffey said, "and that's been working."
