St. Charles chamber to relocate downtown

ST. CHARLES – The St. Charles Chamber of Commerce will begin relocating its offices to 216 Riverside Ave. in downtown St. Charles on July 11.

The chamber will be closed from July 11 to 13 to move and will reopen at its new location July 16.

Stacey Ekstrom, president and CEO of the chamber, said a downtown location will make the organization more accessible to residents.

“It will be easier for people to visit the chamber offices,” Ekstrom said. “We’re excited to move.”

The chamber is currently on the east side of St. Charles at 3755 E. Main St., suite 140.

Lynne Schwartz, executive director of the city’s Downtown Partnership, shared Ekstrom’s excitement for the move.

“I think that it’s great,” Schwartz said. “[The chamber] will be closer to us physically as an organization.”

Schwartz said that although the chamber and partnership have “different missions,” their close proximity will allow them to “support each other’s efforts.”

Amy Egolf, executive director of the St. Charles Convention of Visitors Bureau, an organization that collaborates with the chamber and partnership, said she understands the benefits of a centrally located chamber.

“We’re delighted to have them downtown,” Egolf said. “A central location will be good for the chamber.”
