MacRunnels to seek change in venue in McConnaughay suit

A political opponent of Kane County Board Chairman Karen McConnaughay will ask a Kane County judge to allow him to take a lawsuit against McConnaughay to a court outside the county.

James MacRunnels of Elburn said his lawyer will file a motion for a change of venue for the lawsuit with Kane County Judge Thomas Mueller this month.

“DuPage County, Cook County, wherever, it doesn’t really matter to me,” MacRunnels said. “Just as long as it’s not in Kane or Kendall. There’s no way I can get a fair shake here.”
