A little more than a year since coalescing, the health care organization that runs Delnor Hospital and Central DuPage Hospital has put in a bid to add Sherman Hospital to its roster.

Representatives of Elgin-based Sherman Health confirmed that Cadence Health is among two finalists bidding to merge with Sherman.

Cadence, which operates Delnor in Geneva and CDH in Winfield, is competing against Oak Brook-based Advocate Health Care, which operates Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, and Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, among others, for the right to “partner with” Sherman.
