Biggert receives Spirit of Enterprise Award

Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

U.S. Rep. Judy Biggert has been recognized with the Spirit of Enterprise Award from the United States Chamber of Commerce for her support of pro-growth policies during the 112th legislative session. Biggert, who has a 96 percent lifetime voting record from the U.S. Chamber, accepted the award during a multi-chamber legislative breakfast hosted by the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce.

“I am grateful to receive this award from a nationally-recognized leader on economic issues impacting the small business community,” said Biggert. “I’ve always considered small businesses to be the cornerstone of our economy, and I’ll continue to support the policies that help them to grow and put people to work.  Right now, that means stopping a massive tax hike this January.  Last week, the House voted to prevent a rate hike on small businesses that would cost our economy hundreds of thousands of jobs. With unemployment at 8-plus percent for 42 consecutive months, raising taxes during a recession is the worst thing Congress could do. The Senate must follow suit and end the uncertainty that has frozen growth in the private sector.”
