Central v'ball loses Yoder, then wins match

Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

The Burlington Central girls volleyball team rebounded for a season-opening victory against Hampshire on Wednesday just moments after fourth-year varsity outside hitter Hannah Yoder injured her ankle during pregame serving drills.

Rockets coach Marv Leavitt said the incident was an accident, and that Yoder's foot landed improperly as she completed a serve. He said Yoder would undergo an X-ray and that the timetable for her return is unknown.

"It wasn't what we wanted, that's for sure. Especially her senior year," Leavitt said. "We're just hoping for the best."
