• A gold pendant necklace, gold amethyst earrings, gold sapphire earrings, gold plain hoops and a gold wedding band were taken between Friday, Aug. 10, and Sunday, Aug. 19, from a house in the 700 block of Maves Drive.

• Mary Godee, 40, of the 1100 block of Souders Avenue, Elburn, was charged Thursday, Aug. 23, with retail theft.

• Daniel S. Ryan, 54, of the 100 block of Branford Circle, Batavia, was charged Thursday, Aug. 16, with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
