The Misty River Music Makers chorus is inviting singers to attend an event at 7 p.m. on Sept. 10 or Sept. 24 at the Montessori Academy of Batavia.

BATAVIA – Ladies who enjoy singing are invited to attend an event at 7 p.m. on Sept. 10 or Sept. 24 at the Montessori Academy of Batavia, 595 S. River St., Batavia, where the Misty River Music Makers chorus performs.

The chorus is comprised of 22 Fox Valley-area women who sing a cappella four-part harmony.

The group has been entertaining the Fox Valley for nearly 30 years and recently won first place at a regional competition sponsored by Harmony Inc., an international women’s choral organization.

Those who would like to drop by Sept. 10 or 24 can sing with the group or just observe. Note-reading skills are not necessary, and refreshments from the ladies’ kitchens will be available.

Those who do come likely will hear old favorites, like the Etta James standard “At Last,” as well as The Beatles, Al Jolson and holiday tunes.

Attendees will be invited to jump in and start learning the music if they’d like.
