Newcomer to run against incumbent county recorder
The race for Kane County recorder pits longtime Kane County Recorder Sandy Wegman against newcomer Brenda Rodgers.
Wegman, an Elgin Republican, was first elected to the office in 2000. Rodgers is an Elgin Democrat and realtor, and was on the Elgin City Council from 2003 to 2007.
The Kane County Recorder’s Office receives original property instruments, such as deeds and mortgages, and is responsible for recording those documents in the county’s permanent archive of land titles and ownership records.
