Four businesses caught in August alcohol sting

NORTH AURORA – Four North Aurora establishments were caught last month selling alcohol to minors by the Illinois Liquor Control Commission.

Oak Street Restaurant, 945 Oak St.; 7-Eleven, 2 S. Lincolnway St.; Restaurant Tecalitlan, 200 E. Butterfield Road; and Jay’s Wine & Liquors, 186 E. Butterfield Road were charged in the Aug. 14 compliance check conducted by the Illinois Liquor Control Commission and the Secretary of State Police.

“We take this very seriously,” said Susan Hofer, an Illinois Liquor Control Commission spokeswoman. “Underage drinking tends to lead to serious accidents, both to the people who are driving and the people who get in their way.”
