Published: Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012 5:30 a.m. CDT

ELBURN – Those who come to see the trapeze artists, elephants and performing dogs when the Kelly Miller Circus comes to Elburn on Sept. 19 will help out the Elburn Leo Club.

The Kelly Miller Circus will hold performances at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Sept. 19 at Lions Park, 500 Filmore St., Elburn. Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children younger than 12.

They are available until Tuesday at Alice’s Place in Elburn, American Bank & Trust Co. in Elburn, Elburn Lions Park and Old Second Bank in Elburn.

Ticket prices at the gate are $15 for adults and $7 for children younger than 12. A portion of the ticket sales will benefit the Elburn Leo Club, a youth group of the Elburn Lions Club.

“We’re trying to mold our future leaders,” said Elburn Lions Club President Pam Hall, who also is the adviser to the Elburn Leo Club.

Hall thought a circus would be a good way to raise money for the group.

“This is a nice, family-friendly event that can be enjoyed by everyone in our community,” Hall said.

The circus will feature elephants, tigers, horses and circus stars under a circus big top. The public is also invited to see the raising of the big top, which will be at 9 a.m. Sept. 19.
