On Sept. 16, the first “Chili for Charity” chili cook off event will take place at the Kendall County Fairgrounds, 10826 Illinois Route 71, Yorkville.
The event will take place from 1 to 7 p.m., with live music, entertainment for the family, food and drinks, and chili.
During the event individuals and teams will compete to win a first-place prize.
Participants in the cook off will be judged by the crowd and by a panel of judges in two categories – hot and mild – with awards given to the best in each.
Local businesses have been invited to participate as well – as a sponsor, by registering a cooking team, or with a donation.
Tickets for the event can be purchased for $10 at the door with advanced sale tickets available online for $8.
Children 12 years old and younger are free.
All funds raised from the event will be used to support St. Vincent de Paul and the Knights of Columbus.
