Prep roundup: Second-half rally leads Kaneland boys soccer past Morris
MORRIS – The Kaneland boys soccer team scored twice in the final 10 minutes on Thursday to rally for a 2-1 Northern Illinois 12 Big East win against Morris.
After Morris took the lead on a penalty kick, Kaneland’s Anthony Parillo took advantage of a short Morris goal kick into the wind, stealing the ball and going in unassisted to tie the game at 1 with 9:35 to play.
Then, midfielder Ben Longson, whose playing time was sporadic because of a nose bleed, scored what coach Scott Parillo said was probably his first goal of the season, tapping in Kushstrim Ismaili’s deflected cross for the go-ahead score with 5:32 to play.
