WEST CHICAGO – Aurora Christian quarterback Ryan McQuade scorched Wheaton Academy for 344 yards and six touchdowns Friday, helping the Eagles roll past the Warriors, 55-7, in a Suburban Christian Conference crossover.
McQuade finished 26 of 39 with zero interceptions as Aurora Christian (4-0) remained unbeaten entering next week’s key SCC Blue showdown against visiting St. Francis.
“Best I’ve seen Ryan play by far,” Eagles coach Don Beebe said. “Excellent job of sitting in the pocket, making his reads and executing his throws.”
Wheaton Academy fell to 0-4 as Aurora Christian scored another rout, winning by at least 32 points for the fourth time in as many tries this season. Chad Beebe snagged 16 receptions for 207 yards and three touchdowns for the Eagles.
“We played high energy, played very hard football, and defensively again we played an outstanding football game,” Don Beebe said. “Our first string did not allow a touchdown.”
Burlington Central 21, Harvard 9: At Harvard, Central moved to 3-1 (2-0 BNC East) behind sophomore running back Trevor Davidson, who ran for two touchdowns.
Third-string quarterback Tyler Majewski finished 10 of 12 passing in place of three-year starter Ryan Ritchie, who was held out as a precaution after returning to practice Thursday after an early-season lower leg injury.
Aurora Central Catholic 59, Chicago Christian 19: At Palos Heights, Steven Amoni rushed for two touchdowns and more than 100 yards for ACC, which moved past last week’s shutout loss to Immaculate Conception. The Chargers improved to 3-1 (1-1 SCC Gold).
“We have a chance now to go and take another step forward,” ACC coach Brian Casey said. “We’ll take that very seriously.”
Matt Rahn ran and threw for a touchdown, while Brian Bohr added a touchdown run and reception.
