Face time with Michelle Alagna

Sugar Grove resident Michelle Alagna, 44, was shopping at the St. Peter Barn Sale when she answered 11 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.

Where did you grow up? Hanover Park and Bartlett.

Pets? Two sugar gliders, Zoe and Daisy, and I have six pet rats named Filbert, Tippu, Cheddar, Biscuit and the two females are undetermined because we just brought them home. And 15 fish.

Why did you buy a cat carrier? For taking my rats to the vet. I had one that had a tumor removed surgically a few weeks ago from his hindquarters. They suspected it was cancer, but I did not send it to be tested. No chemo. We are just going to hope he doesn’t get any more tumors.

First job? At the Merry-Go-Round, a clothing store at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I probably wanted to be a veterinarian like every other kid. Instead I became a homemaker.

A movie you’d recommend? “Sixteen Candles.”

What is your guilty pleasure? Lots and lots of chocolate.

Favorite charity? Wayside Cross Ministries.

Hobbies? I like to decorate my home.

Favorite local restaurant? Fireside Inn in Sugar Grove.

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I used to party with rock bands, but I’m not naming any names.
