BATAVIA – Soon, Kiss The Sky not only will be a place to buy music but hear music, as well.

Kiss The Sky owner Steve Warrenfeltz told aldermen at Monday's Batavia City Council meeting that the store is working with BATV to produce a monthly series of shows called "Live From Kiss The Sky." The first show will feature local performer Noah Gabriel and will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 30.

"It is patterned after the show 'Austin City Limits,' " Warrenfeltz said. "We're going to focus on local Fox Valley music."

Kiss The Sky, which had been at the corner of Third and State streets in downtown Geneva about six years, moved in July next to Water Street Studios in the building that formerly housed First Street Playhouse at the corner of Water and First streets.

The 3,800-square-foot space is bigger than its previous location, which will allow the store to feature live music, Warrenfeltz said. Kiss The Sky had been on Randall Road in Batavia for 10 years before relocating to Geneva.

Those who attend will be treated to be an intimate show. Attendance for each show will be limited to 50 people, Warrenfeltz said.

Batavia Mayor Jeff Schielke said he thought Kiss The Sky was a "great fit" next to Water Street Studios.

The "Live From Kiss The Sky" shows will also be made available on DVD for $10. Sales will be limited to 100 copies, and proceeds will be divided among BATV staff, which will be coproducing the show, the musicians and Kiss The Sky, Warrenfeltz said.
