GENEVA – Early Sept. 11, someone in a small black pickup truck drove over the lawn of a Geneva resident, police said.
According to reports, a homeowner in the 200 block of Sandholm Street was awakened at 4:35 a.m. to the sound of a vehicle spinning tires on the lawn. The homeowner looked out and saw the vehicle leave, going south, after doing $150 worth of damage to sod, reports said.
In addition, a lawn in the 200 block of Maple Lane was damaged by a vehicle driving over it, but the homeowner did not see who it was. According to reports, the driving in that incident was done between 4 and 5 a.m. Sept. 11, causing $600 worth of damage to the lawn.
Police Cmdr. Julie Nash said there have been no other similar incidents reported, adding there was no information immediately available to connect the two incidents.
