Vehicles tear up lawns

GENEVA – Early Sept. 11, someone in a small black pickup truck drove over the lawn of a Geneva resident, police said.

According to reports, a homeowner in the 200 block of Sandholm Street was awakened at 4:35 a.m. to the sound of a vehicle spinning tires on the lawn. The homeowner looked out and saw the vehicle leave, going south, after doing $150 worth of damage to sod, reports said.

In addition, a lawn in the 200 block of Maple Lane was damaged by a vehicle driving over it, but the homeowner did not see who it was. According to reports, the driving in that incident was done between 4 and 5 a.m. Sept. 11, causing $600 worth of damage to the lawn.
