‘The Master’ to be released to Charlestowne 18

ST. CHARLES – Following its opening weekend at five theaters in New York and Los Angeles, the drama “The Master” will expand its release into more theaters this coming weekend, including the Charlestowne 18.

“The Master” is set in the 1950s and centers around an intellectual called “The Master” (Philip Seymour Hoffman) whose faith-based organization catches on in the U.S. His right-hand man (Joaquin Phoenix) is a drifter. The film also stars Amy Adams and Laura Dern, and is written, directed, and co-produced by Paul Thomas Anderson.

Showings of the film will run Friday, Sept. 21, through Thursday, Sept. 27. Showtimes are 1:10, 4:05, 7 and 9:55 p.m.

This will be the first film presented in Charlestowne 18’s new 4K digital projection and sound technology. The Charlestowne 18 Theatre is located at 3740 E. Main St., St. Charles.
