Prep Roundup: St. Charles East girls golf knocks off pair of Tri-Cities rivals

ST. CHARLES – The St. Charles East girls golf team rode a pair of above-and-beyond performances to beat St. Charles North and Batavia on Thursday in an Upstate Eight Conference triangular meet at Pottawatomie Golf Course.

East (172) squeaked by North (174); both St. Charles schools were well ahead of Batavia (224). Paige Jordan led the Saints with a 41, and East coach Rod Osborne said senior Jane Noelker (42) and freshman Karina Shah (45) both outdid their averages by three to four strokes.

Osborne said Noelker habitually excels late in the season.
