ELGIN – The Aurora Central Catholic football team pulled away from St. Edward, 25-7, on Friday, inching closer to the program’s first postseason berth since 1997.

The Chargers (4-1) can be grateful for the running of Steven Amoni in the Suburban Christian Conference crossover victory.

Chargers coach Brian Casey was very happy with the win, saying, “The character of our kids, back to the wall, that’s a spot where in the past our program would have folded or backed down. Now we have a chance to compete in the postseason for the first time in awhile.”
