Three hurt in 3-vehicle crash near Elgin

ELGIN TOWNSHIP –  A 16-year-old boy from Campton Township was injured in a three-car crash about 3:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of McDonald and Stevens roads in unincorporated Elgin, after he drove through a stop sign, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office said.

The teen was taken to Delnor Hospital in Geneva with minor injuries, according to a statement.

The teen was driving a 2002 Chevy Malibu north on Stevens Road approaching the intersection with McDonald Road and failed to stop at a stop sign, police said. The Malibu collided with a Nissan Murano that was traveling east on McDonald Road, which flipped over and landed on its roof.
