Elburn resident Theresa Shoup was shopping at the St. Peter Barn Sale when she answered 11 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.

Where did you grow up? South Side of Chicago.

Pets? Three golden retrievers Izzy, Roxie and Dorie.

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Kristy McNichol.

First job? Baby-sitting.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a nurse, and I became a preschool teacher.

A book you’d recommend? Anything by James Patterson.

Favorite charity? American Cancer Society.

What is your guilty pleasure? Chocolate.

Hobbies? Crafting.

Favorite local restaurant? California Pizza Kitchen in Geneva.

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I saved someone from drowning. There were four of us on a tiny two-person sailboat and no life vests. We were in college and kind of stupid. We were in the middle of the lake, and my girlfriend’s boyfriend says he can’t swim. And then the boat goes down, and I see him bobbing in the water, and I grabbed him and pulled him to shore.
