KCChronicle.com/preps Athlete of the Week: Burlington Central soccer's Bryce Warner

Why Warner was selected: Warner has scored two goals in each of Burlington Central's last four matches.

Burlington Central senior forward Bryce Warner has been on a serious roll lately, tallying two goals in each of Central's last four matches. His favorite goal during the scoring binge was a 25-yard strike against Rockford Jefferson that whistled into the upper-corner of the net. Warner, the St. Charles Bank & Trust-Kane County Chronicle Athlete of the Week, touched base with sports editor Jay Schwab on his scoring prowess. The following is an edited transcript:

Two goals apiece in four straight games – how's that for consistency?
I started a little slow [this season] and then it just took one game I guess, and it just kept rolling from there.

What do you think of people using fireworks near their homes?

That shouldn't be tolerated. It's dangerous.
I'd never do it, but I'll watch others.
It's OK so long as the fireworks are legal.
It's not a problem. It's just a way to celebrate.
I have no opinion.
