Letter: Church has nothing to do with fliers
To the Editor:
The Congregational United Church of Christ celebrated its second annual United Fall Fest on Sept. 8. Unfortunately, the event was marred when festivalgoers returned to their cars and found fliers discussing the possible use of the Glenwood School property as a residential treatment center.
I want to make it clear that the fliers were not distributed by the Congregational United Church of Christ, nor did we know that they were being distributed. The flier referred to a Sept. 24 meeting held at the church to discuss the issue. The church, being one of the largest meeting places in the Campton Hills area, has often been used by the village of Campton Hills when it is necessary to accommodate a large gathering. This does not, by any means, indicate that the church has taken any stand on the use of the Glenwood property.
