BATAVIA – A Batavia fire caused about $120,000 worth of damage at a motorcycle repair and custom design shop.

The Batavia Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at Diesel's Service & Repair in the 800 block of East Wilson Street shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday. More than 30 emergency personnel were on scene after two people stopped into the fire department to report the fire.

When the fire department arrived, heavy black smoke was showing from the building, and firefighters located a fire inside of the shop. Most of the motorcycles in the shop were damaged, according to a news release from the Batavia Fire Department. Fire and smoke caused damage throughout the building.

No one was injured.

The Batavia Fire Department was assisted by the Geneva, St. Charles, Fermi Lab, North Aurora and Elburn fire departments. The departments had the fire under control by 7:20 p.m., and the scene was cleared shortly before 9 p.m.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
