Fire damages Batavia motorcycle repair shop

BATAVIA – A Batavia fire caused about $120,000 worth of damage at a motorcycle repair and custom design shop.

The Batavia Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at Diesel's Service & Repair in the 800 block of East Wilson Street shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday. More than 30 emergency personnel were on scene after two people stopped into the fire department to report the fire.

When the fire department arrived, heavy black smoke was showing from the building, and firefighters located a fire inside of the shop. Most of the motorcycles in the shop were damaged, according to a news release from the Batavia Fire Department. Fire and smoke caused damage throughout the building.

What do you think of people using fireworks near their homes?

That shouldn't be tolerated. It's dangerous.
I'd never do it, but I'll watch others.
It's OK so long as the fireworks are legal.
It's not a problem. It's just a way to celebrate.
I have no opinion.
